It's a beautiful sunny Saturday here in Western NY. It's not too cold this afternoon and we're just lounging around doing nothing. How nice.....

Ridiculous item of the day: A dentist in Pennsylvania is suing the Philadelphia Phillies because they did not do enough to protect him from getting hit by a foul ball. Instead of trying to cover his head, which is what I would have done, he decided to try and catch it. The Common Pleas judge for Philadelphia dismissed it but it was appealed to the Commonwealth Court. Apparently, the safety warnings by the announcer, on the back of the ticket, on the walkway signs, and the video that is played were not enough for this guy.

And a Florida couple, who were just caught in Utah, give a bad name to foster parents. Among the evidence that suggests they abused five of their children; evidence of damaged and missing toenails (which were supposedly pulled out with pliers) and photos of the children that "looked like pictures from Auschwitz." This is certainly not the first case of foster children being abused by foster parents and, sadly, will probably not be the last. Why even bother adopting? Why not just get a statue? That way it can be abused till the cows come home and no children get hurt.
